Bica (pronounced "Beeka") is the inspiration for us creating our kennel. We first adopted Bica as a potential show dog from Rebecca Gorton Jack at
Nipntuck Labradors . Becky's dogs are always strong competitors in the show ring, obedience ring, and in hunt tests but they are best known for their great temperament. Bica certainly lives up to that tradition. Bica's Sire - Nipntuck It's a Dog's Life - "
Charlie" is a great big yellow boy with a very silly and fun loving personality. You can see his pedigree
here. Bica's Dam - CH Nipntuck Twinkle in Our Eye - "
Twinkle" is a wonderful chocolate that wiggles from her head to her tail when she greets you. Twinkle is now enjoying a well deserved retirement in Montana with her owner Cindy Frost.
After starting out quickly winning 9 points including a 3 point major Bica was sidelined with a spider bite injury suffered while she was hunt training. She also took some time off to have a beautiful litter of 11 puppies last summer. Bica is now back on the show circuit and hoping to finish up her American championship this year. She is professionally handled by Tony Carter. In her "free" time Bica has taken up the hunt test game and is currently training with Chuck Hilton of
Hiltonhall Labradors. Bica has attained the first of four required "wings" for her Junior Hunter title at the end of last summer. Given her strong drive for retrieving in both the field and the water it looks like Bica has a great shot at completing her Junior Hunter title during the upcoming hunt test season!
